Do The Fob-Lem Shake
While preparing for this blog post, all I could compare my crazy antics to is the latest worldwide trend known as the "Harlem Shake". If you have been living under a rock and don't know what it is, check out You Tube, you will spend the next 3 hours debating whether humanity is doomed or brilliant. Anyway...onto the good stuff.
So, to get into our building you need a key fob...which looks like this....
Being a female, we are breed to be able to juggle many things at one
time, ergo why we do the hip shift when holding a baby while flipping
some pancakes, folding clothes and putting rollers in our hair, all at
the same time.
Now, on any given morning/afternoon when I am coming into work I have at least 2 or more bags on my person which include but not limited to, a lunch bag, work bag, gym bag and/or any type of bag. So trying to scan a key fob to get into the building while holding all those bags is almost next to impossible...unless you are a professional fobber like me.
I have some moves I would like to share with you in case you aren't on my level of fob-lem shaking yet....here they go...
Now. I know these moves seem crazy, but I am sure Eddie, who sits by the door around 9:30am each morning and sees my crazy fob-lem style dances can tell you, these moves are real.
Usually upon gearing up for my trek from my car to the building, I realize which pocket I need to put my keys in. Whether it is my coat pocket or back pocket depends on the number of bags I am juggling. Either way, if you want to see some real skills, hangout by the back door around 9:30am Wednesday through Friday and see the real show.
Next week we are switching over to ID badges to get into the building, so maybe I will be posting a new blog about how I manage to finagle myself into the building each morning. We will see. Until than, I must go master some new moves to shock the audiences that I know will be waiting to see a live performance of the fob-lem shake next week.

The Regular Scan
If I only have one bag, this is what it normally looks like when I scan my fob.
The Hip Check
If for some reason I have a large lunch box and a backpack, I must resort to the hip check to get into the door. Please note: I have to place my keys inside my vest pocket so I can hopefully hip check the fob scanner hard enough that it will scan my fob and let me in the door.
The Booty Bump
Now, this is not the most pleasant or graceful of moves but hey, it gets the job done. If for some reason I find myself wearing a backpack, carrying a reusable grocery bag and bringing a completely over-sized lunch box, I must resort to the booty bump.
Now. I know these moves seem crazy, but I am sure Eddie, who sits by the door around 9:30am each morning and sees my crazy fob-lem style dances can tell you, these moves are real.
