SHON-ti-cleers
Being a Chanticleer is something that I am extremely proud of.
My small piece of real estate at ESPN has a Rooster Rag hanging up on the wall behind me and a Coastal Carolina Hat hanging right by my name tag, I never want there to be any doubt that I am proud to be a mythical rooster from the Canterbury Tales.
This past week I was able to pay it forward to an athletic department that not only gave me the chance to be a student worker, but that allowed me build quite the impressive resume that has helped me get where I am today.

This past week I was able to pay it forward to an athletic department that not only gave me the chance to be a student worker, but that allowed me build quite the impressive resume that has helped me get where I am today.
Late Friday night, while I was seeing the latest happenings on Twitter, I noticed a tweet on my Tweetdeck from the account @RoosterFeed using the hashtag #SCTop10...now I work on SportsCenter so that set off numerous alarms.
I checked out the clip and I flipped over it (Pun intended, you will see). From that moment on I worked my hardest to get that video from the amazing guys in the athletics video department and what happened next was truly awesome.
A great guy by the name of Dylan messaged me saying that he could send me a file with the video and with that I was able to get some of the best highlight footage I have ever received (I am truly being bias, I won't lie). Dylan sent me multiple angles of the play and in the end I knew I had something good...Top 10 worthy if you will.
After getting the file onto our servers I sent a note to our 11pm SportsCenter team alerting them to this amazing women's soccer play that was available for use.
Now, there are many times I alert the shows about plays that I think are amazing, but they never end up seeing the light of day, so I knew that I didn't want to get my hopes up.
12:55am came and went and I watched the Top 10 plays of the night in hopes it would make it, well we went through plays 10 to 1 and no Coastal play...slightly disappointed (but understanding that is life) I turned back to my computer when all of a sudden I heard SportsCenter anchor Kevin Connors proclaim "we gotcha a little bonus play tonight..." and my head turned just in time to see the awesome flip of Christina Stern, and I knew I had a victory.
There is nothing better than seeing some teal on ESPN but even better knowing that I was able to pay it forward just enough to get the best collegiate athletic department in the world some credit that they deserve.
I can say with the utmost certainty that without the Coastal Carolina Athletic department and the 4 years I spent working in every department imaginable, I would not be where I am today.
Now check this out because it is pretty damn good...
