Tell me something good...

Hello world...

Tis' me. I haven't used this space in quite some time but I think the timing right now is perfect. I am going to be updating this blog space, use it as a place to share my ideas, short stories, maybe debut fun content I am working on (ie: DINOLANNA!) and just create a space...

If you made it this far, maybe you wonder what I mean by...create a space...

The last five months have been nothing short of a world wind adventure. These adventures will be shared through short stories here on Rubey Rambles. I am hoping to create a space of sharing, love, positive things and just 'Elanna' things.

Now...why am I doing this? Well friends, last week I found I have cancer. LIKE WOAH? WHAT?! I know...wtf?

"You take such good care of yourself!...you run all the time!!! etc etc" oh I know...I am just as baffled but I am going to take that baffle, turn it into rambles and thus...Rubey Rambles.

All joking aside...I have Stage 1 Thyroid Cancer. It all started in January when I discovered a mass on my neck. After a flurry of doctors appointments and scans (Corona be damned!) - I was told last week that the prognosis is good and I am going to fight this thing!

I can tell you that for the last 8-10 months, I knew something wasn't right. My body just wasn't my body anymore. Everything felt out of my control, the things that I enjoyed became a source of sadness. running - my usual solace - became a place of sadness when my body couldn't run anymore like it used too...so I switched to a cross-fit-type workout to see if I needed a break from running...I found a great gym (Fearless Fitness - PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR SMALL GYMS!!) and after about a month of pushing through rope swings and doing things I never thought I could...my body said no...this is when I knew something wasn't right.

I will get more into it my symptoms and what I have found lacking from healthcare during this and share more etc. But I just wanted to get this first announcement out there... I needed to get this off my chest.

I am not sure what the coming months will have in store for me, but I know I have an amazing Fiance Christina who will continue to deal with my crazy ass, a beautiful mother who is a literal saint, my Dad who is already giving me hospital stay pointers and my sister and her wonderful partner who bring me treats and send me funny Tik Toks.

That is all for now...Please enjoy these pictures of some of my gnomes!!!
